Uijeongbu City has maintained the childbirth incentive of 1 million KRW for families giving birth to a second child or more, and expanded the support to provide 300,000 KRW to families giving birth to their first child born on or after January 1, 2025.

With this amendment, 300,000 KRW will be given for the first child, and 1 million KRW for the second child or more, which is the existing support amount.

The support is available to households registered and residing in Uijeongbu City, and the expanded support will be applied starting this year. Applications for childbirth incentives can be made at the local community service center within 5 years from the date of birth.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, "By establishing a childbirth incentive for the first child and expanding the support target, we aim to reduce the sense of exclusion felt by families with a first child and create a childbirth-friendly environment. We hope this will provide practical help to families with children. We also plan to promote various childcare policies such as 24-hour daycare centers, English playgrounds, and part-time childcare rooms to create a city that is good for raising children."
