The first visitors to Suncheonman National Garden this year were confirmed to be Mr. Noh Junseop (61) and his wife, residents of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, which has a sister-city relationship with Suncheon. This added special significance, symbolizing the friendship between the two regions.
The city welcomed Mr. Noh Junseop and his wife, the first visitors of the New Year, with a bouquet and souvenirs, and gifted them a special memory by taking a commemorative photo with staff against the backdrop of the garden's iconic Lake Garden.
Mr. Noh Junseop, who took a train at 5 a.m. to visit Suncheonman National Garden before going to his wife's hometown, shared his thoughts, saying, "My hope for the New Year is a peaceful world."
Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu of Suncheon said, "Suncheonman National Garden is Korea's representative garden, where nature and cultural content are harmoniously blended. We are delighted that so many people visit with hopes for the New Year," adding, "We will do our best to ensure it continues to be a place that offers inspiration and relaxation to the public."
