Mayor Lee "Full Effort to Secure Citizen Safety Budget"
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that the special adjustment grant (Special Grant) secured from Gyeonggi Province last year amounted to 6.17 billion KRW.
The representative budgets among the Special Grants secured last year include ▲ installation of landscape lighting at Goindol Park (2.2 billion KRW) ▲ installation of water play areas in Cheongho-dong and Busan-dong (2.2 billion KRW). The installation of landscape lighting at Goindol Park is part of the 'Light Festival' that the city has been actively promoting since the launch of the 8th term of the local government. The city explained that stable budget securing has laid the foundation for advancing related projects.
The city also secured numerous budgets related to citizen sports and cultural spaces, including ▲ maintenance of Yeogyesan urban forest trail (350 million KRW) ▲ replacement of cork pavement at children's parks (300 million KRW) ▲ repair work for the inline skating rink at Malgeumteo Park (150 million KRW) ▲ improvement of aging facilities at Osan City Museum of Art (100 million KRW).
Additionally, the city secured budgets for citizen safety-related facility installations such as ▲ installation of pedestrian signal red remaining time displays (50 million KRW) ▲ installation of security CCTV (350 million KRW), as well as budgets for public facility improvements including ▲ replacement of LED lighting at Osan Osaek Market (100 million KRW) ▲ improvement of public parking facilities at Milmeori-gil (230 million KRW) ▲ installation of barriers at Doksanseong East Gate parking lot (140 million KRW).
Lee Gwon-jae, Mayor of Osan City, stated, "Creating conditions where citizens can live comfortably and enjoy leisure activities safely is the most important issue," adding, "We will continue to collaborate with Gyeonggi Province and the People Power Party members of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council to make every effort to secure the maximum possible budget."
