Seo District Mayor's First Lunch with Nine Young Public Officials Aged 7-9 Grades on the 2nd
Sharing Simple Gukbap with the MZ Generation for 'Communication'... Listening to Everyday Concerns and Interests
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa District, announced on the 2nd that he spent time communicating by having lunch with MZ generation employees on the first working day of the new year.
The district prepared the meal gathering to listen to the honest opinions of young employees, who are the driving force for organizational development, and to reflect them in district administration for the new year 2025. On this day, before lunch, Mayor Seo held a short tea meeting and warmly welcomed the nine young employees he invited.
MZ generation employees with various careers from grade 9 to grade 7 attended the lunch. They gathered in one place, from key figures who led last year's district administration such as the Garak Market Water Purification Tower Public Art Project, national designated cultural heritage management, and employees recognized for tax and social welfare contributions, to newly appointed rookie public officials as of January 1.
The lunch menu was gukbap, a dish familiar to everyone. Mayor Seo shared simple food with the younger generation again this year following last year's hamburger, engaging in casual and comfortable conversations.
Starting with New Year's greetings, Mayor Seo praised the hard work of employees who were active in various fields last year. In particular, he listened attentively to the everyday concerns and interests of MZ public officials, emphasized ideas for district development and the creation of a flexible public service culture, and continued to build consensus on various topics.
He also urged them to not forget their mission as public officials to enhance residents' convenience and welfare in 2025 and to take on new responsibilities.
After the meal, one employee said, “At first, having a meal with the mayor was awkward, but sharing gukbap at a frequently visited restaurant made it feel much more friendly,” and added, “I appreciated the effort to communicate on topics that young employees are interested in.”
