Bright Eye 21 Hospital (Chief Director Kim Juyeop) announced on the 2nd that Park Beomchan has been appointed as the new director.
Director Park Beomchan obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees from Chosun University College of Medicine, and previously served as the chief ophthalmologist and clinical professor of retina at Chosun University Hospital. As a specialist in the fields of retina, uvea, and cataract, Dr. Park has contributed to the advancement of retinal medicine in Korea through in-depth academic and research activities.
In particular, Dr. Park published a paper titled "Monocytes and high-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol in Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion" (co-authored by Park Beomchan, Cha Yuwan, Kim Seongtaek) in the Journal of Retina, the official journal of the Korean Retina Society, and was awarded the Excellent Paper Award by the Korean Retina Society in 2023. Through this paper, he demonstrated that the ratio of monocytes to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (MHR) can serve as a physiological marker for predicting the risk of branch retinal vein occlusion, earning recognition for his outstanding clinical capabilities and research achievements.
