At the ceremony, Chairman Shim said, "Hansujeong plans to establish the National Garden Culture Center this year, followed by the completion of the National Land Greening Memorial Hall next year and the National Saemangeum Arboretum in 2027." He added, "Accordingly, securing professional personnel and establishing a strategic system to prepare a stable organizational operational foundation is Hansujeong's goal for this year."
He emphasized strengthening the roles of the Forest Restoration Support Center, Urban Forest Support Center, and Native Plant Supply Center to support the Korea Forest Service's forest policies while continuously expanding the Baekdudaegan Global Seed Vault project area.
He also proposed expanding the garden material discovery and distribution project using native plants by enhancing garden-related tasks such as garden tourism, healing, and education through the National Garden Culture Center, which will be fully operational this year, and by solidly operating the K-Testbed.
Chairman Shim said, "Hansujeong will strive to take a step forward as an institution leading the arboretum and garden platform this year," adding, "Along with this, we will practice transparent and responsible ethical management to become a public institution that fulfills social and environmental responsibilities."
