"Building the Prestige of a Special City Befitting Its Vision"
Jung Gu-won and Cho Seung-moon Begin Full Operation as 1st and 2nd Deputy Mayors

Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province, announced the new slogan "Special Citizens, Shining City" and revealed the vision for the launch of the special city at the New Year's ceremony held at the city hall auditorium on the 2nd.

In his New Year's address, Mayor Jung presented three goals for the special city: ▲Good Growth ▲Full of Hope ▲Lifelong Enjoyment. To achieve these, Mayor Jung pledged to focus administrative efforts on completing Hwaseong Technopolis, creating a balanced live-work-play city, building an AI city responsible for citizen safety, establishing a cultural and arts city including Hwaseong Arts Center, Municipal Museum of Art, West Coast Golden Coast Road, Botanic Garden, and Hwaseong International Theme Park, developing a customized welfare safety net for each life cycle, and constructing a mobility city.

Mayor Jung proposed the four-character idiom for this year as "Geungojiyeong (根固枝榮)," meaning that strong roots lead to flourishing branches. He said, "Hwaseong Special City will extend branches of prosperity toward higher goals based on the strong roots of its citizens," adding, "We will communicate to create a city where the lives of all citizens can be transformed."

On the same day, the city held the inauguration ceremony for Jung Gu-won, the 15th and 1st Deputy Mayor, and Cho Seung-moon, the first 2nd Deputy Mayor, officially launching the administrative system following the elevation to a special city.
