Developing Professional Farmers and Returnees to Farming and Rural Areas
The Agricultural Technology Center of Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do is recruiting new students for the '2025 Academic Year Icheon Agricultural Life University' until the 3rd of next month.
This program aims to train professional farmers and support the stable settlement of returnees to farming and rural areas. The total number of recruits is 110, including ▲30 for the Youth CEO Course ▲40 for the Life Agriculture Course ▲40 for the Future Agriculture Course.
The Youth CEO Course provides advanced education on management strategies for young farmers and agricultural product marketing. The Life Agriculture Course offers basic farming cultivation techniques targeting returnees to farming and rural areas as well as urban residents. The Future Agriculture Course is designed to cultivate specialized agricultural managers in various fields through education on subtropical crops responding to climate change, new income crop cultivation techniques, smart agriculture, and healing agriculture.
Any citizen residing in Icheon-si who is interested in agriculture can apply. However, the Youth CEO Course is open to young farmers aged between 18 and 50. The Life Agriculture Course also accepts applicants who plan to return to farming or rural areas in Icheon-si.
Application forms are distributed on the Icheon City Hall website, at each eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare center, and at the Agricultural Consultation Office. The center selects the final successful candidates through a first-round document screening and a second-round interview evaluation.
No Jae-deok, director of the Icheon Agricultural Technology Center, said, "We will nurture professional farmers equipped with agricultural management and scientific farming practice skills through systematic mid- to long-term technical education by item."
