Official Launch of the 2nd Phase Professional Management System
Appointment of Key Affiliate CEOs and Executive Promotions Implemented
Pulmuone is launching a new phase under the second-term professional management system, led by the newly appointed third General CEO (Chief Executive Officer), Lee Woo-bong, to welcome the New Year.
On the 2nd, Pulmuone held an inauguration ceremony for the new General CEO Lee Woo-bong at its headquarters in Suseo, Gangnam, Seoul, announcing that he has officially begun his management activities as the General CEO overseeing all domestic and overseas businesses.
At the inauguration ceremony, General CEO Lee Woo-bong said, “I feel a heavy responsibility as the third General CEO,” adding, “I am reassured by the dedication and efforts of over 10,000 employees who work tirelessly to uphold the company’s values and promote healthy food, which gives me great strength for the challenging journey ahead.”
He continued, “We will expand Pulmuone’s concept of healthy food into sustainable food and sustainable eating habits and develop it as a core of the global K-food culture,” and stated, “We will do our utmost to establish Pulmuone as the undisputed global number one sustainable food and sustainable eating company.”
Furthermore, he said, “In this era of knowledge revolution centered on big data and artificial intelligence (AI), we will drastically reform the organizational culture so that Pulmuone’s employees can fully demonstrate their capabilities,” and added, “We will accelerate digital transformation (DX) and process innovation (PI) to make Pulmuone the best future smart company to work for in Korea.”
He also mentioned, “This year is expected to bring an unprecedentedly difficult management environment due to global economic uncertainties and political volatility,” and said, “Our company has set this year’s core management tasks as four practical tasks linked to the company-wide mid-to-long-term four core strategies (plant-based orientation, animal welfare, healthy experiences, eco-friendly care) to prepare for the global economic crisis and secure future growth engines for a second leap forward.”
Pulmuone has established four core practical tasks for 2025: ▲Expansion of sustainable food ▲Global market expansion ▲Strengthening ESG (environment, social, governance) management ▲Future response through food tech.
Lee Hyo-yul, who successfully led the company for the past seven years as General CEO, plans to actively support Pulmuone’s continuous growth and development by serving as chairman of the board.
With the start of the second-term professional management era, Pulmuone has newly appointed key executives of major affiliates and holding company core positions to work alongside the new General CEO Lee Woo-bong on core management tasks, and has carried out promotions for executive ranks.
Hong Young-sun, Head of the Operations Headquarters, was appointed as the new CEO of Pulmuone Danone. CEO Hong graduated from Sogang University with a degree in English Language and Literature and earned an MBA from the same university. She has worked as a marketing expert at Pizza Hut, CJ CheilJedang, and KT&G. Since joining Pulmuone Danone in 2016, she has served as Head of Marketing and Head of Operations Headquarters.
Baek Dong-ok, Head of the Operations Headquarters, was appointed as the new CEO of Pulmuone Samul. CEO Baek graduated from Sungkyunkwan University with a degree in Genetic Engineering and has worked as a sales expert at Nestl? Korea and Sempio Foods since 1994. Since joining Pulmuone Samul in 2015, she has served as Head of Sales and Head of Operations Headquarters.
Kim Tae-seok, Head of Research and Development, was appointed as the new Director of Pulmuone Technology Institute, Pulmuone’s R&D center. Director Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering and master’s and doctoral degrees in Biotechnology from Yonsei University. He joined Pulmuone Technology Institute’s predecessor, Pulmuone Technology Research Center, in 1990 and has served as Head of Functional Research Support and Head of R&D.
Kim Jong-heon, Head of Financial Management, was appointed as the new Head of Management Planning, overseeing Pulmuone’s strategy and finance. Additionally, promotions were made for two executives: Ryu Tae-sang, Head of Integrated Operations at Pulmuone, and Kim Jong-hwa, Head of Management Support at Pulmuone Food & Culture.
