It has been reported that Han Do-woo was caught by the police in December 2020 on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act (marijuana). He later received a suspension of indictment with conditions for education completion and continued his activities without any significant self-restraint, which was reported belatedly on the 23rd of last month.

In particular, it was revealed that he held fan meetings related to the dramas Unintentional Love Story and When Your Temperature Touches My Fingertips just one day before the related reports surfaced, sparking controversy.

Amid growing controversy, Han Do-woo finally issued an official statement a week after the report. He admitted, "While being investigated, I realized how serious my wrongdoing was and have deeply reflected on my mistakes," adding, "All my past actions are inexcusable mistakes of mine."

He continued, "I will live carefully so that such incidents never happen again," and bowed his head, saying, "I sincerely apologize to my fellow actors and production staff who worked with me, as well as to my former agency family. I am only filled with fear and remorse for causing harm to the works and unnecessary burdens due to my wrongful actions."

Meanwhile, Han Do-woo debuted in 2014 with the tvN drama Reasonable Love. Since then, he has become known to the public through appearances in dramas such as Making a Woman Cry, Martial Arts School, Our Gap-soon, and Chief Inspector 1958.
