Received Highest Grade in 'Comprehensive and Fiscal Soundness Categories' Led by Ministry of the Interior and Safety
2023 Performance Target... High Evaluation for Improving Local Tax Collection Rate and Actively Securing External Resources
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, has received the highest ratings in both the "Comprehensive Category" and the "Fiscal Soundness" category in the "2024 Local Government Financial Analysis Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety conducts an annual financial analysis evaluation to enhance the fiscal soundness and efficiency of local governments nationwide.
This evaluation, based on the previous year's (2023) performance, analyzed 14 financial indicators across three areas: fiscal soundness, efficiency, and planning, assigning ratings to each local government accordingly.
Dongdaemun-gu earned the highest rating, "Grade A," in the "Comprehensive Category," which assesses the overall management of local finances through 14 financial indicators. The Grade A rating in the comprehensive category was awarded to only two of the 25 autonomous districts in Seoul.
Additionally, Dongdaemun-gu received the highest rating in the "Fiscal Soundness" category, recognized for its efforts to improve local tax collection rates and actively secure external funding, thereby managing finances soundly and efficiently.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, "This achievement is the result of our proactive efforts to increase revenue and reduce expenditures despite challenging economic conditions. We will continue to strive for sound and efficient financial management."
