On the same day, the Ministry of Economy and Finance stated in a press release, "(Acting President Choi) believes that now is the time to unite efforts for both public livelihood and national stability," adding, "there are no plans to accept the resignations."

Earlier, Chief Secretary Jeong Jin-seok, Policy Chief Seong Tae-yoon, National Security Office Chief Shin Won-sik, Foreign and Security Special Advisor Jang Ho-jin, and all senior secretaries collectively tendered their resignations to Acting President Choi. This is interpreted as a protest against Acting President Choi's appointment of two Constitutional Court justices.
