Minju: "All-Out Effort for a Peaceful New Year... Wishing for Healing and Recovery"

The Democratic Party of Korea emphasized on the first day of the new year, January 1st, that "we will revive the Korean community and restore peace to everyday life."

Spokesperson Kim Seong-hoe stated in a written briefing that day, "We earnestly hope that 2025 will be a time of healing and recovery." He said, "In 2024, our society experienced the collapse of everyday peace," adding, "The president declared martial law and mobilized the military to suppress the National Assembly and the people, an unprecedented insurrection that forced Korea to endure a time of despair."

He continued, "Before the aftermath of the insurrection had even subsided, on December 29th, a tragic aviation accident caused numerous casualties," and said, "We will devote all our efforts to help the people and the bereaved families overcome all pain and regain peace in their daily lives."

He added, "Just as the new year has dawned, darkness will eventually lift and warm sunlight will shine," and "The Democratic Party will do its best so that by the end of this year, people can say they were hopeful and happy."
