Gwangju City announced on the 1st that it will resume shuttle bus operations for the Hanam, Pyeongdong, and Cheomdan industrial complexes starting from the 2nd.
The city will deploy eight buses to operate shuttle services twice daily for commuting to and from work, from Monday to Saturday, in the large-scale industrial complexes of Hanam, Pyeongdong, and Cheomdan, each covering more than 3.3 square kilometers (1 million pyeong).
Since 2010, the city has been operating shuttle buses as part of a transportation support project for industrial complex workers. This initiative aims to improve accessibility to the industrial complexes and enhance transportation convenience for workers, thereby creating a favorable investment environment for businesses and contributing to job creation for small and medium-sized enterprises as well as revitalizing the local economy.
Gwangju City plans to thoroughly support the industrial complexes by investigating the actual use of shuttle buses in the first half of this year and preparing improvement measures.
