The city explained that the total amount of special grants and special adjustment grants acquired in the second half of this year is 14.15 billion KRW, laying the groundwork for the smooth promotion of Yangju City’s local government 8th term second half pending projects.

The projects selected this year include ▲ Relocation and construction of the Agricultural Technology Center building (1.2 billion KRW) ▲ Expansion and paving of City Route 30 (between Bangseong and Sanbuk) road (1.2 billion KRW) ▲ Establishment of the Integrated Senior Welfare Support Center (1 billion KRW) ▲ Installation of Yangju City Living Resource Recovery Center (2.5 billion KRW) ▲ Expansion and paving of City Route 6 (between Gwangsa and Mansong) road (1 billion KRW) ▲ Expansion and paving of the 1st Gwangsa Bridge (1.8 billion KRW) ▲ Improvement of Okjeong Neighborhood Park and two other community sports facilities (1.15 billion KRW) ▲ Repaving of Local Road 98 (210 million KRW) ▲ Installation of enclosed bus shelters (200 million KRW) ▲ Creation of a barefoot path (1.19 billion KRW), totaling 10 projects.

First, the expansion and paving construction of City Route 30 (between Bangseong and Sanbuk) is a project to expand and pave the road connecting Bangseong-ri in Baekseok-eup and the Sanbuk-dong area, aiming for completion in 2025.

Additionally, the city expects that once four projects ? expansion and paving of City Route 6 (between Gwangsa and Mansong), expansion and paving of the 1st Gwangsa Bridge, and repaving of Local Road 98 ? are completed, traffic inconveniences for citizens using local roads will be greatly alleviated.

Furthermore, through the Integrated Senior Welfare Support Center project, which includes remodeling the existing senior welfare center located in Deokgye-dong to install a smart senior citizen center and simultaneously operate senior welfare programs, the city plans to enhance the welfare of the elderly.

Moreover, projects closely related to daily life and aimed at improving convenience and welfare, such as the installation of the Yangju City Living Resource Recovery Center, relocation and construction of the Agricultural Technology Center building, improvement of Okjeong Neighborhood Park and other community sports facilities, and creation of a barefoot path, will be carried out to actively raise the ‘happiness index’ of ‘Yangju citizens’ in the new year.

Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly members Lee Young-joo, Kim Min-ho, and Park Jae-yong unanimously stated, “We will make further efforts to carefully identify and propose necessary projects so that residents’ happiness index can increase.”

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, “The securing of this special adjustment grant was achieved through organic cooperation with local assembly members and Yangju City. Since the funds were secured during difficult times, we will do our best to promote projects for the safety and happiness of citizens and continue to focus on securing budgets through ongoing proposals for projects essential to citizens.”
