Singer Lee Seung-chul has decided to postpone his concert schedule to express condolences following the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster at Muan International Airport.

On the 31st, Lee Seung-chul's agency LSC stated, "A national mourning period has been declared due to the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster that occurred at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do," and added, "To share the national mourning sentiment, the performance scheduled for January 4 has been postponed again to March 22."

They continued, "Since the concert is a promise with many people, we carefully considered the decision to postpone," and explained, "Given the large-scale disaster and the entire nation being in sorrow, we judged that it would be difficult for both the performers and the audience to enjoy the concert, so we ultimately decided to postpone the performance."

Previously, Lee Seung-chul was scheduled to hold a solo concert 'Orchestrac 2' at BEXCO Auditorium in Haeundae-gu, Busan on the 28th, but it was canceled once on the day of the performance due to a diagnosis of type A influenza.

Meanwhile, following the declaration of the mourning period, various year-end events in the entertainment industry are being canceled or postponed one after another. The three major broadcasters KBS, SBS, and MBC also announced that they would cancel or replace several entertainment programs such as the existing planned entertainment awards ceremonies, drama awards, and music festivals with recorded broadcasts. Singer Cho Yong-pil canceled his concert scheduled in Daejeon, and Lee Seung-hwan also canceled his concert in Cheonan next month, expressing condolences for the victims.

Meanwhile, the government previously declared the national mourning period from the 29th of last month to the 4th of next month. Joint memorial altars will be set up at the accident site at Muan International Airport as well as in 17 cities and provinces nationwide, including Seoul and Sejong.
