Global Golf Influence Rankings This Year

The influence of the "Golf Emperor" Tiger Woods (USA) remained strong.
On the 30th (local time), the American sports media ESPN announced the "Top 25 Most Influential Figures in Golf in 2024," with Woods taking first place. Woods struggled with his performance this year, having completed all four rounds in only one tournament, the Masters in April. He withdrew midway through the PGA Tour Genesis Invitational and missed the cut in the remaining three major tournaments.
After undergoing back surgery last September, Woods signaled hope for the 2025 season by finishing as runner-up alongside his son Charlie at the family event PNC Championship this month. Additionally, in January 2025, he will introduce the TGL, a screen golf league, together with Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland).
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (USA) ranked second in influence. He is the strongest player this year with seven PGA Tour wins and a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau (USA) ranked third, McIlroy fourth, and women's golf world No. 1 Nelly Korda (USA) took fifth place. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan (USA) and Yasir Osman Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund who controls LIV Golf, ranked sixth and seventh respectively.
Xander Schauffele (USA), who won two majors this year, ranked eighth, and Jon Rahm (Spain), who debuted in the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf, was ninth. Korean New Zealander Lydia Ko ranked tenth. She entered the Hall of Fame after winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics and the major AIG Women's Open. Korean American player Anthony Kim (USA), who attracted attention by participating in this year's LIV Golf tournaments, ranked 24th.
