Jang Je-won's Son Noel Responds to Yoon's Arrest Warrant News with "Various Agitations and Reframing"

Post Vivid Comments from Official Account
Netizens Divided Over Noel's Comment

Noel (Jang Yong-jun), a rapper and son of former People Power Party lawmaker Jang Je-won, strongly condemned reports of an arrest warrant issued for President Yoon Suk-yeol. On the 30th, when a social media (SNS) magazine account posted content stating that an arrest warrant had been issued for President Yoon, Noel left a critical comment saying, "This is truly disgusting" and "Close the page." He also used derogatory expressions toward the opposition party and Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, calling it "varied agitation and 리짜이밍."

The term "리짜이밍" mentioned by Noel is a Chinese-style pronunciation of Lee Jae-myung's name. It is known to be used by some people who criticize Lee as a "Chinese henchman." Moreover, Noel added profanity, expressing strong criticism. Noel posted comments on his official account and shared his opinions, which sparked debates over the post. Opinions were divided between those saying "Noel's reaction crossed the line" and others arguing, "Why criticize Noel for speaking out when people insult him while 임영웅 remains silent?"

Noel appeared on Mnet's "High School Rapper" in 2017 but withdrew midway due to a controversy over transactional relationships. In 2019, he was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 2-year probation for drunk driving. Two years later, he was sentenced to 1 year in prison for unlicensed drunk driving and assaulting a police officer, and was released in October 2022 after serving his term. At that time, lawmaker Jang Je-won had to step down from his position as the head of Yoon Suk-yeol's campaign. Additionally, he announced that he would not run in this year's general election for his constituency in Sasang, Busan.

Afterwards, Noel posted on his SNS that he "supports the Democratic Party," and when he saw news of former lawmaker Jang shouting loudly and speaking informally to the head of a supervised agency during a public committee meeting, he indirectly criticized it by saying, "I feel like I'm going to vomit." Meanwhile, on the 31st, the court issued an arrest warrant for President Yoon, who is accused of rebellion related to the "December 3 Emergency Martial Law Incident."
