SMG Yonsei Hospital, operated by the medical corporation Happo Medical Foundation, held the inauguration and retirement ceremony for the 5th Director Kim Jeong-hwan and the 6th Director Park Sang-je.
Director Kim, who retired on the 30th, led SMG Yonsei Hospital for nine years from 2015 to 2024.
During his tenure, Director Kim achieved both quantitative growth and qualitative advancement of the hospital. In particular, he opened a regional emergency medical center and a nursing and integrated care service ward, and improved the medical environment through ward remodeling. He is also recognized for leading regional medical development by expanding medical infrastructure, including the introduction of the latest 3.0T MRI and the establishment of a pathology department.
In his farewell address, Director Kim expressed, “I deeply thank all the executives and staff who have worked together for the development of SMG Yonsei Hospital over the past nine years. I hope our hospital will continue to be at the center of medical advancement in the local community.”
Newly appointed Director Park stated in his inaugural speech, “Building on the achievements of the previous director, I will do my best to provide more innovative and future-oriented medical services,” and added, “I will focus on strengthening the patient-centered care system and enhancing the capabilities of medical staff in operating the hospital.”
SMG Yonsei Hospital is expected to take this change in leadership as an opportunity for a new leap forward and to become a more trusted medical institution.
In particular, with Director Park’s inauguration, the hospital plans to focus on ▲ innovation of patient-centered care systems ▲ improvement of medical service quality ▲ contribution to the development of community healthcare.
