Yeongju City Operates 'Yeongjuro, Rail GO' Stamp Tour to Celebrate Full Opening of Jungang Line KTX Seoul↔Busan

Travel to Yeongju, the Beginning of New Tourism

Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 31st that, to commemorate the full opening of the Central Line KTX-Eum at Bujeon Station, it will operate a special tourism promotion called the ‘Yeongjuro, Rail GO!’ stamp tour in collaboration with the Korea Railroad Corporation Gyeongbuk Headquarters.


This stamp tour was prepared to maximize the effect of the KTX opening, promote Yeongju’s history and tradition, and encourage tourist attraction. The operation period is from January 1 to February 28, 2025.


Tourists who purchase KTX tickets and arrive at Yeongju Station or Punggi Station can receive a tour card. Holders of the tour card can enter Yeongju’s representative tourist sites?△ Sosu Seowon △ Seonbi Village △ Seonbi World?at a 50% discounted price and receive commemorative stamps at each tourist site.


After collecting all the stamps, tourists can verify their tour card again at Yeongju Station or Punggi Station to receive various souvenirs that will help them cherish their memories of the Yeongju trip.


Yeongju is full of attractions where unique history and tradition come alive, such as Sosu Seowon, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site; Seonbi Village, where visitors can feel the spirit of the Seonbi scholars; and Seonbi World, where Korean traditional culture can be experienced. With the full opening of the Central Line KTX-Eum, tourists can now enjoy Yeongju’s charm more easily by using faster and more convenient transportation.


Mayor Park Nam-seo said, “This promotion, prepared to commemorate the full opening of the Central Line KTX, will serve as an opportunity for more tourists to visit Yeongju by combining KTX travel with Yeongju tourism,” and added, “We ask for much interest and participation in this event, which allows people to experience Yeongju’s charm and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”


Yeongju City expects this promotion to go beyond a simple tourism event, presenting new possibilities for railway tourism linked with the KTX and serving as a stepping stone to develop Yeongju into a more attractive tourist city.
