Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) announced on the 30th that it will cancel the "2025 Eulsan Year Sunrise Event" scheduled for January 1st next year at Samsung Sunrise Park, mourning the Muan International Airport Jeju Air passenger plane disaster.
However, despite the cancellation of the event, many residents are expected to visit Samsung Sunrise Park, so safety management measures and the installation of portable toilets will be maintained in preparation.
District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong said, "We pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in this accident and extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families," adding, "We hope all residents welcome the New Year peacefully and safely."
