Term of Office for 3 Years Starting January 1st Next Year
Myongji Foundation held a board meeting on the 26th and appointed Dr. Lim Yeon-su as the 13th president of Myongji University. The new president's term will begin on January 1st next year and last for three years.
President Lim graduated from the College of Engineering at Seoul National University and earned his master's and doctoral degrees in engineering from Clemson University in the United States. Since being appointed as a professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Myongji University's College of Engineering in 1995, he has served as the director of the Graduate School Academic Affairs Office, chairman of the University Innovation Support Project Steering Committee, director of the Education Support Office, and vice president for academic affairs.
A representative from Myongji University stated, "President Lim has made significant contributions to educational policy, university management, and academic development based on his extensive experience in education and research. In particular, as he has led efforts to improve students' learning environments and strengthen the research capabilities of the faculty, we expect him to play a major role in the stable operation and continuous growth of Myongji University going forward."
