Hwang Sang-ha, Former Head of Planning and Management Division, Appointed as New President of SH Corporation

Hwang Sang-ha, former Head of Planning and Management at Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation), has been appointed as the new president of the corporation, filling the vacant position.

On the 30th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced the appointment of former Head Hwang as the new president of SH Corporation. His term is three years starting from this day.


Born in 1964, President Hwang holds a master's degree in Real Estate Construction and Development from Konkuk University. He has served as Director of the Financial Business Promotion Division, Director of Planning and Coordination Office, Head of Asset Management Division, and Head of Planning and Management Division at SH Corporation. He also acted as the interim president from April to November 2021. He successfully led initiatives such as reducing debt by 7 trillion won, achieving an AAA credit rating, and introducing new rental housing business models through REITs. He is especially recognized for establishing tailored strategies and demonstrating strong execution capabilities based on his extensive practical experience.


On the 23rd, President Hwang underwent a personnel hearing at the Seoul Metropolitan Council, where his management skills, policy execution abilities, and vision for the corporation were evaluated.


The city stated, “We expect President Hwang to resolve key issues of SH Corporation and successfully implement policies aimed at ensuring housing stability and housing welfare services for Seoul citizens, based on his accumulated expertise, leadership, and capabilities developed over many years at the corporation.”


President Hwang said, “With increasing housing instability among ordinary citizens due to unstable housing prices, the corporation will take a more innovative and proactive approach to lead the resolution of urban issues in Seoul. We will faithfully carry out key projects prioritized by the city, such as the construction and supply of high-quality rental housing, expansion of long-term lease housing 2 (Mirinae Jip), and the Great Hangang Project, and do our best to secure financial soundness for the sustainable public interest projects of the corporation.”
