Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 30th that it will recruit candidates for the '2025 Rural Guidance Pilot Project' until January 31 next year to expand the dissemination of demand-oriented agricultural base technologies and field application, such as creating new growth engines for agriculture, improving the quality of life for farmers, and responding to climate change.
This project plans to invest 960 million KRW in 24 locations across 18 types in 6 fields. Major projects include △ on-site training for new farmers △ creation of apartment rooftop gardens △ establishment of stable rice production cultivation complexes △ dissemination of strawberry seedling technology △ support projects to revitalize online direct transactions of agricultural products.
Applicants must reside within the jurisdiction and be registered as farmers, agricultural corporations, or organizations in agricultural management entities. Farms (including group projects) that have received subsidies of 10 million KRW or more in the past three years (2022?2024), those who have given up projects in 2024, and those with arrears are excluded.
Citizens who wish to apply can fill out the application forms posted on the Yangju Agricultural Technology Center website and submit them by visit or email.
Applicants will undergo on-site surveys and eligibility verification from February 3 to 14, then be presented to the Agricultural Industry-Academic Cooperation Council for selection. After receiving preliminary education for project participants, the full-scale project will be implemented.
A city official stated, “Through the successful promotion of the pilot project, we will faithfully carry out continuous field inspections and consulting to improve the quality of Yangju agricultural products and create safe and sustainable agriculture and rural areas.”
