Jinju-si Conducts On-Site Inspection of Living Conditions for Vulnerable Groups in Winter

Mayor Cho Communicates with Workers at Local Childcare Centers Supporting Meals for Vulnerable Groups and Inspects Safety Facilities at Senior Centers

Jinju City in Gyeongnam Province, in preparation for the winter season, inspected the living conditions of vulnerable groups and visited Modeokgol Community Child Center and Daebong Senior Citizens' Center to foster a sense of community and spent time communicating with residents.

Mayor Jo Gyu-il, who personally participated in the visit, went to Modeokgol Community Child Center, which supports after-school care and meals for vulnerable children such as basic livelihood security recipients and single-parent families. He held a meeting with the staff to listen to their difficulties and urged them to pay close attention to the children using the facility.

He then visited Daebong Senior Citizens' Center, which operates as a shelter during severe cold waves, conducted facility inspections to prevent safety accidents, and checked on the well-being of the elderly using the center.

An elderly person using the senior center said, “Although the cold wave continues day after day, I am grateful that the city provides generous support necessary for the operation of the senior center,” and added, “I am glad that I can spend the cold winter not alone at home but together with neighbors in the warm senior center.”

Mayor Jo Gyu-il stated, “We will explore various measures to ensure that all citizens have a safe and warm winter and do our best to connect necessary welfare services,” and urged, “I hope citizens will also look out for vulnerable groups facing difficulties around them and show interest so that they can receive help.”
