Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has decided to observe a national mourning period until January 4th next year in relation to the Jeju Air passenger plane accident that occurred at Muan International Airport on December 29th.

On the morning of the 30th, the district held an emergency countermeasure meeting and decided not to hold local events or festivals during the national mourning period. The New Year's sunrise event scheduled for January 1st was also canceled.

At the emergency countermeasure meeting, Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "We mourn the victims who lost their lives in the passenger plane accident at Muan International Airport," and added, "We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families who must be in great shock and sorrow due to the sudden accident."
