At the event, Nam Hee-jin, General Director of KAMCO’s National Property Division, Park Yumi, Chairperson of Mwoodeun School Social Cooperative, and others attended to celebrate the opening of the ‘NaraOn Care Shelter’.

The ‘NaraOn Care Shelter’ is a support project by KAMCO to newly utilize idle national property to help socially vulnerable groups, in accordance with the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s “2024 Comprehensive Plan for National Property.” It signifies switching the utilization of previously unused national assets from Off to On, while adding a warm 온 (On) feeling.

The 5th branch of the ‘NaraOn Care Shelter’ was created to utilize idle national property as a resting space supporting the independence of people with developmental disabilities.

Specifically, KAMCO discovered and cultivated idle national land to provide a healing space where people with developmental disabilities, who lack outdoor activities, can engage in farming and beekeeping experiences together with local residents.

Additionally, KAMCO donated 7 million KRW to Mwoodeun School Social Cooperative, the operating organization, for practical support such as initial purchase of supplies for operating the ‘NaraOn Care Shelter’ to support people with developmental disabilities.

In particular, the 5th branch of the ‘NaraOn Care Shelter’ is linked with the ‘Integrated Care Service for Severely Disabled People with Developmental Disabilities’ led by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Gyeongsangnam-do, providing customized services such as 24-hour close care to support the independence of people with developmental disabilities.

Through this 5th branch of the ‘NaraOn Care Shelter,’ KAMCO expects to contribute not only to enhancing the value of national property but also to forming a warm village community by strengthening skinship between people with developmental disabilities and neighboring residents.

Nam Hee-jin, General Director of KAMCO’s National Property Division, said, “This project is an exemplary case of newly utilizing idle national property to support the independence and psychological and physical recovery of people with developmental disabilities. KAMCO will continue to spare no effort and support so that more people with disabilities across the country can shine brightly as members of society by utilizing national property nationwide.”

Meanwhile, as the dedicated agency for managing national property, KAMCO has been entrusted with managing about 720,000 parcels of general national property nationwide since 1997. It is leading efforts to enhance the value of national property by remodeling idle national property and opening ‘NaraOn Senior Workplace’ to support job creation for the elderly.
