Jung Junho: "Choi Sangmok Must Answer to the People"... 'Chinjeon' Draws Attention

Letter to Acting President Choi from a Senior
"Must Respond by Restoring the Constitutional Court System"

Jung Junho: "Choi Sangmok Must Answer to the People"... 'Chinjeon' Draws Attention Junho Jung, Member of the National Assembly.

With the unprecedented impeachment of the acting president, Choi Sangmok, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, has assumed the role, and a heartfelt letter from an opposition lawmaker to Acting President Choi is drawing attention.

On the 29th, Democratic Party lawmaker Jung Junho (Gwangju Buk-gu Gap) delivered a letter entitled "A Letter to a Senior" to Acting President Choi, stating that he was impressed by the moment when Choi raised his hand firmly in response to a question about whether there were any cabinet members who opposed the impeachment.

In his letter, Jung noted, "It is quite unusual that Choi Sangmok, Cho Kuk, and Na Kyungwon are all classmates from the Seoul National University School of Law, class of '82?something hard to find in other years," and added, "Although there were many choices during a time when industrialization and democratization intersected, you never hesitated to take on the role of an economic official contributing to Korea's development."

He continued, "You must be facing many concerns now that you have taken on the responsibility of state affairs, but the current impeachment situation is a stage in which the government must prepare an answer to the nationwide question of whether the Yoon Sukyeol administration is truly a democratic government."

He also stated, "The previous acting president (Han Ducksoo) failed to provide answers to the public, even though he should have," and emphasized, "Rather than following the mistakes and hypocrisy of Yoon Sukyeol and Han Ducksoo, you must fulfill your duty as acting president to ensure national stability and swift economic recovery."

He appealed, "You should return to the original intention you had when you made an active choice for the next generation at the recommendation of a professor during your undergraduate years," and added, "By restoring the constitutional review system and first answering the public's questions, you should then fully carry out your active role as an economic expert."

Jung warned, "The moment you confuse these priorities, you will inevitably be bound by the errors committed by Han Ducksoo," and stressed, "If you face these challenges with the same concern for the next generation, the public will surely recognize your sincerity."

Meanwhile, Jung is a first-term lawmaker representing Gwangju, and is 19 years junior to Acting President Choi at university.
