The government has postponed the announcement of the 2025 Economic Policy Direction, which was scheduled for the 30th.

On the 29th, the Ministry of Economy and Finance informed the press corps, "The 2025 Economic Policy Direction will be postponed due to the Muan aircraft accident," and added, "We will provide specific times and schedules later."

The Economic Policy Direction is a document that diagnoses and forecasts our economy and outlines the policies to be pursued accordingly. At the end of the year, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance has traditionally announced the Economic Policy Direction for the following year in person.

However, since Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok is focusing on managing the aftermath of the Jeju Air accident, it appears the announcement schedule has been postponed. Acting President Choi arrived at Jeonnam Muan International Airport around 12:55 PM that day to oversee the accident site.
