Responding to Minimize Casualties
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced at 9:03 AM on the 29th that an accident occurred during the landing of Jeju Air flight 2216 (Bangkok~Muan) on the runway of Muan Airport, stating, "We are accurately assessing the number of casualties," and "The Ministry is operating the Central Accident Response Headquarters and will respond comprehensively to minimize human damage."
The Ministry stated, "There were a total of 175 passengers (including 2 Thai nationals) and 6 crew members, and we are accurately assessing the number of casualties," adding, "an accident investigation committee investigator arrived at 10:10 AM and is currently investigating the cause, and the safe operation of aircraft has been instructed to each airline and airport."
