The Democratic Party of Korea announced on the 28th that it will file charges against members of the People Power Party for incitement to rebellion. This is because they claimed that President Yoon Seok-yeol's 'martial law' was justified.

Lee Yong-woo, head of the legal task force of the Democratic Party's 'Special Committee for Overcoming Rebellion and National Stability,' said at a special committee meeting held at the National Assembly, "There is rampant propaganda and agitation denying that the martial law was justified or that it was an act of rebellion, opposing the impeachment of the president, and claiming that 'impeachment is equivalent to rebellion,'" adding, "We will file a collective complaint."

Chief spokesperson Cho Seung-rae told reporters after the meeting, "We plan to file charges against about 10 people, including politicians from the People Power Party and YouTubers, as early as the 30th," and predicted, "Key politicians from the ruling party, including members of the People Power Party leadership, will be included."

The Democratic Party plans to propose a special law next week to investigate the facts related to the martial law incident and to protect whistleblowers.

Members of the special committee urged the swift arrest and detention investigation of President Yoon. Kim Min-seok, chairman of the special committee, said, "The Yoon Seok-yeol Cabinet, including Acting President Choi Sang-mok, should promptly cooperate with the constitutional court's procedures for judging the rebellion," and added, "As public officials, do not commit any more crimes against the people."
