Japanese media quickly reported the news of the passage of the impeachment motion against Prime Minister Han Deok-su, the Acting President.

The local public broadcaster NHK reported in a breaking news segment on the 27th, "When the Speaker of the National Assembly declared the impeachment motion against Acting President Han passed, the ruling party protested."

The impeachment motion against Acting President Han was passed in the plenary session of the National Assembly that afternoon, with 192 out of 300 members present voting in favor.

NHK reported, "The ruling party claims that the passage of the impeachment motion against Acting President Han requires the approval of more than two-thirds of the members, i.e., over 200 votes," adding, "Ruling and opposition party members are in severe conflict, with ruling party members gathering in front of the Speaker's seat to protest."

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei) stated, "The Han acting administration, following the suspension of President Yoon Seok-yeol's duties, has faced a crisis in about two weeks," and added, "Although there have been three previous suspensions of presidential duties due to impeachment motions, this is the first case of an acting prime minister being impeached, causing confusion within the administrative authorities."

Kyodo News also reported in a breaking news update that the impeachment motion against Acting President Han was passed.
