Earlier, on the 23rd, Seoul also signed a business agreement with Chungcheongbuk-do to exchange excellent policies and promised cooperation on 'Seoul Learn' as the first policy. Through the agreement, Chungbuk will connect 1,200 youths living in six population-declining cities and counties within the province with 'Seoul Learn,' providing high-quality online educational content and supporting customized mentoring utilizing talents from the region.
Pyeongchang County also plans to support joint use of the platform by opening a dedicated main portal for Seoul Learn in Pyeongchang County and share know-how and materials. Shim Jae-guk, head of Pyeongchang County, expressed gratitude, saying, "Despite various difficulties such as population decline, with Seoul's help, we will be able to create an opportunity for Pyeongchang County to develop," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that students can study in a pleasant environment."
Mayor Oh said, "Education is the most powerful ladder for social mobility in our society, and everyone should be given a fair opportunity regardless of their starting point," emphasizing the necessity of Seoul Learn by stating, "Over the past three years, Seoul Learn has provided more than 30,000 students not only with opportunities to improve their grades but also with chances to newly discover their potential." He added, "Now, Seoul Learn has begun to resolve educational disparities between regions beyond bridging gaps between social classes," and shared his thoughts, saying, "I hope that more students, including those in Pyeongchang County, will dream new dreams and nurture their aspirations toward a broader world through Seoul Learn."
