Four Achievements in Agriculture: Best and Excellent Institution Awards
Damyang County has once again demonstrated its outstanding capabilities in the agricultural sector by receiving the Excellence Award and the Grand Prize in this year's comprehensive evaluation of agricultural administration and livestock policies conducted by Jeonnam Province. Damyang-gun in Jeollanam-do has once again proven its outstanding capabilities in the agricultural sector by winning four awards in various agricultural policy evaluations organized by Jeollanam-do this year.
According to the county on the 27th, Damyang-gun achieved remarkable results in this year's agricultural evaluations hosted by Jeollanam-do, including the ‘Excellence Award’ in the Comprehensive Agricultural Policy Evaluation, ‘Best Institution’ in the Comprehensive Livestock Policy Evaluation, ‘Excellence Award’ in the Eco-friendly Agriculture Grand Prize, and ‘Excellence Award’ in the Agricultural Food Distribution Evaluation.
In particular, Damyang-gun received the Excellence Award in the agricultural policy evaluation, which covers 33 items across six fields such as revitalization of agriculture and rural areas, promotion of eco-friendly agriculture, and production of food and horticultural crops, recognizing the overall achievements of its agricultural policies.
These accomplishments are attributed to concentrated investment in the agricultural budget since the 8th popularly elected administration, as well as systematic policy implementation and cooperation from local farmers.
Moreover, the Eco-friendly Agriculture Grand Prize marks the first achievement in 14 years since 2010, acknowledging the county's efforts to expand the area of eco-friendly certification and diversify crop items.
County Governor Lee Byeongno stated, “Despite difficult conditions such as lack of sunlight due to climate change, heavy rain, pests and diseases, and falling rice prices, we were able to achieve these results thanks to the united efforts of public officials and residents. Next year, we will continue to do our best for sustainable agricultural development and increased farm income.”
