National Assembly member Sung Iljong, who serves as the chairman of the National Defense Committee and represents Seosan and Taean in South Chungcheong Province, announced on the 27th that he has secured 4.2 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for the second half of 2024.

Looking at the details by region, Seosan City secured a total of 2 billion KRW, including 1 billion KRW for the installation of a resource recovery (incineration) facility and 1 billion KRW for the replacement of the electronic display board at the lake park.

Taean County secured a total of 2.2 billion KRW, including 800 million KRW for the replacement of disaster and accident electronic display boards, 400 million KRW for the improvement of the Sindoo district risk zone, 500 million KRW for the installation of road user protection facilities in Wonbuk-myeon, and 500 million KRW for the construction of the Mallifornia Marine Leisure Safety Education Center.

Among these, the "Seosan City Resource Recovery (Incineration) Facility Installation Project" was promoted due to the existing municipal waste landfill facility reaching its limit. With the securing of this special grant, the completion of the resource recovery facility and the accompanying complex experiential tourism facilities, such as an observatory, is expected to gain momentum for completion in 2025.

Additionally, the "Lake Park Electronic Display Board Modern LED Replacement Project," which will address citizen inconvenience caused by outdated equipment that has exceeded its service life, and the "Mallifornia Marine Leisure Safety Education Center Construction Project," which includes a swimming pool and surfing facility and is gaining attention as a landmark for marine leisure tourism in South Chungcheong Province, are also expected to move forward, signaling progress on long-awaited community projects.

Sung Iljong stated, "The special grants secured for the second half of the year are expected to expedite the implementation of urgent local projects and improve the living conditions of residents in disaster-prone areas. Despite the challenging fiscal situation, I will do my utmost as a member of the National Assembly to alleviate citizen inconvenience and secure local budgets."
