Gwangsan-gu Council in Gwangju announced on the 27th that Council Member Yoon Hyeyoung (Democratic Party of Korea, Sinheung-dong, Usan-dong, Wolgok 1 and 2-dong, Unnam-dong) was selected as a local council member in the legislative category at the 2024 Gender Equality Policy Awards and received the National Assembly Gender Equality and Family Committee Chairperson's Award.

Council Member Yoon, who is serving her second term as a basic local council member, has been recognized for her various legislative activities aimed at advancing gender equality policies in Gwangsan-gu.

In particular, through the 'Gwangsan-type Integrated Care Council Member Research Group,' she has worked to establish a community-based integrated care system, enact ordinances supporting the economic activities of women entrepreneurs and women with interrupted careers, and strengthen the institutional foundation for improving women's social and economic status and promoting gender equality.

She has also taken the lead in representing women's voices by facilitating communication and policy discussions with women's organizations.
