The county has made multifaceted efforts to boost the local economy amid a sluggish construction market, such as increasing contract volume for local construction companies, recommending priority purchase of local materials, producing a guidebook for specialized construction businesses, and selecting outstanding construction professionals.
In particular, at the beginning of the year, the county held a Regional Construction Industry Development Committee meeting to listen to the difficulties faced by local construction companies and to seek practical solutions for improving the construction environment. At the end of the year, outstanding construction professionals were selected and awarded to encourage their hard work, thereby increasing the participation rate of local companies. The county also produced a construction industry guidebook, which included examples of legal violations, and received positive feedback from businesses.
Lee Byungsoo, head of the Construction and Urban Affairs Division, said, "The construction industry greatly contributes to revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs. We have made every effort to expand contracts and subcontracts for local companies and increase the use of local materials. Taking this award as an opportunity, we will further devote ourselves to revitalizing the local construction industry."
