Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) held the 2024 Dongducheon City Urban Regeneration Project Performance Sharing Meeting at the Saengyeon Gongyunuri Complex Community Center from the 23rd to the 27th.

This event was planned to share the achievements of various urban regeneration projects promoted in Dongducheon City throughout the year with citizens and to create a platform for communication.
On the 24th, the main event was attended by about 80 citizens, including program participants, members of the Saengyeon and Jungang-dong Urban Regeneration Resident Council, and the Bosan-dong Safe Village Urban Regeneration Activity Group. The event featured not only exhibitions of results but also presentations on the progress of urban regeneration projects, flower tea tasting, sujichim (acupuncture with needles), horticultural flower arranging, and various craft experiences such as hand sewing, leatherwork, and hanji (traditional Korean paper) crafts, receiving great responses from citizens.
Mayor Park Hyung-deok of Dongducheon City said, “Many positive changes are occurring in the old downtown area through the urban regeneration projects,” and added, “We expect greater growth and development of Dongducheon City through urban regeneration projects next year, and we ask for the continuous interest and participation of citizens.”
In particular, the camping meal kit package and dessert package products developed by the social cooperative through the Saengyeon 2-dong and Jungang-dong Merchant Capacity Building Project attracted attention by well reflecting the characteristics of the region.
Additionally, various handcrafted works such as tile art created by citizens through the resident proposal contest project, as well as woodworking products including wooden lamps produced through basic home repair education under the Bosan-dong Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Project, and other project results made directly by residents were exhibited.
Meanwhile, Dongducheon City is promoting the ‘Saengyeon 2-dong and Jungang-dong Urban Regeneration New Deal Project’ and the ‘Bosan-dong Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Project,’ and the ‘Urban Vulnerable Area Living Environment Improvement Project’ in Sangpae-dong, as well as the ‘Community Revitalization Foundation Project’ in Saengyeon 1-dong and Bulhyeon-dong, have been selected for contests and are preparing for implementation starting in 2025.
