Busan Metropolitan City Corporation (BMC) has completely replaced the outdated CCTV equipment in the Dadae 3, Bugok, and Dongbaek districts to prevent crimes occurring within apartment complexes and to strengthen facility management.
This CCTV equipment replacement project was carried out to create a safe living environment where various groups, including children and the elderly, can live with peace of mind by improving security facilities for crime prevention. BMC invested a budget of 200 million KRW, including national and city subsidies, to fully replace the CCTV equipment in the respective districts.
Additionally, CCTV equipment was newly installed in existing security and crime-vulnerable areas within limits that do not infringe on residents' privacy, to enhance residents' safety.
BMC plans to select three rental apartment complexes under its management next year and carry out replacement work for outdated CCTV equipment.
Shin Chang-ho, President of Busan Metropolitan City Corporation, stated, “CCTV equipment plays an important role in crime prevention and rapid initial response in case of incidents,” adding, “We will continue to replace outdated CCTV equipment to protect the lives and property of residents.”
