Ulsan Office of Education, 95.7% Satisfaction Rate for Dadut English Parent Club

90.6% of Parents Hope to Participate in Clubs Again Next Year

Improvement in Children's English Skills and Reduction in Private Education Costs

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) announced that, according to a satisfaction survey conducted this year on the ‘Dadut English Parent Club,’ 95.7% of parents expressed satisfaction with the club’s operation.


In particular, the response rate for ‘very satisfied’ was 75.2%, an increase of 7.3 percentage points from last year’s satisfaction rate of 67.9%.


Students participating in Dadut English were evenly distributed across all elementary school grades, with 48.7% in lower grades and 41% in upper grades, and 10.2% of students who started Dadut English in elementary school continued it into middle school.


Parents reported experiencing positive changes after their children participated in Dadut English, such as watching English cartoons or movie subtitles without assistance (45.5%), developing self-directed lifestyle habits (35.8%), and reducing smartphone usage time (26.9%).


The response indicating increased attention to their children’s interests rose by 18.1 percentage points from last year to 83.8%, the highest rate. This was followed by 60.7% of parents who said they gained peace of mind while waiting for their children’s growth, and 51.3% who reported establishing and enforcing media usage rules.


Additionally, 76.9% of parents do not provide private English education for their children, citing that they conduct Dadut English at home. This demonstrates that the Dadut English Parent Club contributes to reducing private education expenses.


Furthermore, 90.6% of parents expressed their desire to participate in the club again next year.


The survey was conducted online from the 16th to the 28th of last month, covering 22 questions, with 117 members responding.


Dadut English is an Ulsan-style elementary English education program focused on listening, meaning ‘If you listen a lot (多), you can hear everything (All).’


The Dadut English Parent Club has been operating for five years since 2020, currently consisting of 14 clubs and 152 parents who practice Dadut English in various ways.


The Ulsan Office of Education is striving to create a listening-centered English learning environment in schools and support English listening in daily life at home to improve students’ listening skills.


An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, “Based on the results of this survey, we will operate a more satisfying parent club and continue to spread a healthy Dadut English learning culture.”
