Singer Jo Young-nam mentioned his ex-wife Youn Yuh-jung again. He referred to their divorce as a "great divorce."
On the 25th, Jo Young-nam said on his YouTube channel 'Hwagejang Talk - Jo Young-nam', "I think what I did was a great divorce. I don't know what people will think, but I will insist on it." He continued, "Above all, because I left the house, that friend (Youn Yuh-jung) became a world-class actress, and because I left the house, I was able to rise as a painter," he claimed.
That day, Jo Young-nam also said, "What I regret for my whole life is that I didn't think about the fact that there were children when I left the house." He added, "I deeply regret it. It's my fault." When the host asked, "Since the day you left the house, have you never seen your son even once? Even if you wanted to see him afterward, you couldn't?" he replied, "Yes. That happened." As a bucket list in life, he mentioned 'a phone call with Youn Yuh-jung.' Jo Young-nam said, "I've done everything I wanted, but just one thing remains: a phone call with the mother of my children (Youn Yuh-jung) (this is my bucket list)."

Regarding Youn Yuh-jung's Oscar win, Jo said, "This is the greatest and coolest blow, a revenge against men who cheat," and added, "As the man who cheated, I have to be more careful from now on." The article came out exactly like that, and for a while, I thought I was almost dying. I was flooded with malicious comments saying, 'Who do you think you are to get involved?'" he lamented. On 'Morning Yard,' when someone said, "People around you praise (divorced Youn Yuh-jung) so much that she looks cool," he responded, "That's because she hasn't dated another man," which drew public criticism.
Jo Young-nam and Youn Yuh-jung married in 1975 and divorced after 13 years. After the divorce, Youn Yuh-jung entered the workforce to raise their son. Calling herself a 'livelihood-type actress,' she became the first Korean actress to win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 75. Youn Yuh-jung has solidified her unique position in Hollywood by appearing in the Netflix series 'Sense8,' the film 'Minari,' and the Apple TV+ series 'Pachinko.'
