Gyeonggi Province has collected over 1.3 billion KRW in overdue taxes from high-value tax delinquents owning construction machinery through seizure and other measures.
Since April, Gyeonggi Province investigated construction machinery owners among 2,248 local tax delinquents and initially seized 1,584 construction machines. Then, it selected 282 high-value delinquents and collected 1.348 billion KRW in local taxes (150 million KRW in provincial taxes) from 162 of them, the province announced on the 27th.

Specific collection cases include sending construction machinery delivery orders, securing construction machinery lease contracts, proceeding with movable property seizures, and confiscating construction machinery license plates, through which taxes were collected from 148 individuals. Additionally, 14 individuals who did not pay their overdue taxes had 14 construction machines, including excavators, forklifts, and loaders, seized and auctioned.
Gyeonggi Province is also investigating 47 of the remaining 120 business sites, excluding 73 that have closed or ceased operations.
No Seung-ho, head of the Tax Justice Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We will continue to develop various delinquent tax collection techniques to ensure that honest taxpayers do not suffer losses and will collect overdue amounts from high-value delinquents with the ability to pay until the end."
