Eun-kyung Lee, Dongducheon City Council Member, Receives '9th Legislative Activity Excellence Award'

Lee Eun-kyung, a member of the Dongducheon City Council in Gyeonggi Province (People Power Party, proportional representation), received the Grand Prize in the Legislative Category at the ‘2024 Gender Equality Policy Awards Ceremony’ held on the 26th in the small conference room of the National Assembly Library.

This awards ceremony was hosted by Women’s Newspaper and the National Network of Female Local Councilors, and organized by the Local Autonomy Development Center. It was held to discover outstanding gender equality policies and to encourage and promote the legislative activities of local councilors who have contributed to the realization of gender equality policies.

Lee Eun-kyung, a recipient and member of the 9th Dongducheon City Council, is carrying out meticulous and sincere legislative activities for the development of Dongducheon City. During the session, she urged an increase in childbirth incentives as a measure against low birth rates through a five-minute free speech and requested a review of postpartum care cost support for women who have experienced miscarriage or stillbirth.

She is also practicing communicative legislation for gender equality in Dongducheon City by supporting medical volunteer activities, listening to residents’ opinions to propose alternatives for improving various welfare support services.
