Prepared Hygiene Products as Gifts
"Hoping the Good Influence Continues" Note Included
A Christmas gift sent by a 6-year-old child was delivered to the Ulsan Buk-gu Songjeong-dong Administrative Welfare Center. At first glance, it looked like a delivery box, but the box contained only a single letter envelope with no sender or recipient indicated. Inside the opened box were 1,056 medium-sized sanitary pads.
The letter paper with a cute character read, "Hello. This is Daeun♡ I saved my allowance to buy this gift. Please share it with the sisters who need it. Merry Christmas♡." Another A4 sheet contained a note written by Daeun’s parents.

On the 26th, Yonhap News reported the story of this 'little Santa' Daeun. The note from Daeun’s parents said, “Our daughter saved her allowance from praise stickers for a year to prepare this gift. Although she is only 6 years old and wanted many things to buy and eat, she endured it all to become a Christmas Santa and give gifts. We prepared hygiene products as gifts, hoping they will help low-income, single-parent family female youths.” Inside the letter envelope were also the praise stickers Daeun had collected over the year.
The Songjeong-dong Administrative Welfare Center plans to distribute these sanitary pads to vulnerable female youths.

A representative from the Songjeong-dong Administrative Welfare Center said, "Thanks to the gift sent by Daeun on Christmas Eve, the hearts of the welfare center staff were warmed," adding, "Daeun’s gift has become a model for practicing the values of sharing and consideration beyond a simple donation. We hope this positive influence continues to spread."
Earlier on the 25th, an elementary school student left a surprise gift in front of the Madeul Police Substation of the Nowon Police Station in Seoul and disappeared. Inside the bag were 200,000 won in cash, a letter with a Christmas tree drawing, Choco Pie, Vita 500, and other snacks. In the letter, the child, who identified themselves as a 6th grader about to graduate from elementary school, said, "I wanted to express my gratitude to the police officers who protect our neighborhood."
