The Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences announced on the 26th that Director Jin-Kyung Lee received the Science and Technology Award at the 14th Nuclear Safety and Promotion Day ceremony.

Director Lee was recognized for her contributions to establishing the national radiation disaster prevention system and for helping to establish a global status as an advanced country in radiation emergency medical technology.
As a specialist in laboratory medicine, Director Jin-Kyung Lee has taken the lead in providing accurate radiation exposure dose information to radiation workers and residents in nuclear power plant areas through the development of exposure dose assessment technology, a core medical technology for radiation-exposed patients, and the establishment of an exposure dose management system.
Director Lee stated, “I have worked to ensure public safety through the development of radiation exposure dose assessment technology and the establishment of a radiation emergency medical response system,” adding, “I ask for continued interest and support so that the institute can contribute to the health and safety of the public through achievements in radiation medical science research and treatment.”
