Gokseong County Wins Excellence Award in Agricultural Policy Evaluation by Jeonnam Province

Achievements in Rural Revitalization and Agricultural Product Distribution Receive Positive Reviews

Gokseong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 26th that it has received the Excellence Award in the 2024 Comprehensive Agricultural Policy Evaluation, organized by Jeollanam-do.


The Jeollanam-do Comprehensive Agricultural Policy Evaluation is conducted annually to enhance the effectiveness of agricultural, forestry, and livestock projects and to promote creative policy initiatives, such as the development of new policies. It comprehensively evaluates the agricultural policy achievements of the 22 cities and counties in the province.

This year, the evaluation was conducted across six fields and 41 items: revitalization of agriculture and rural areas, promotion of eco-friendly agriculture, production of food and horticultural crops, expansion of agricultural product distribution and promotion of the agri-food industry, promotion of environmentally friendly green livestock, and strengthening of animal quarantine and livestock hygiene. Based on these criteria, outstanding cities and counties, including Gokseong County, were selected.


Gokseong County received particularly high scores in the fields of revitalization of agriculture and rural areas, as well as expansion of agricultural product distribution and promotion of the agri-food industry, earning excellent evaluations across all six assessment categories.


Gokseong County Governor Jo Sangrae stated, "The Excellence Award in the Comprehensive Agricultural Policy Evaluation is the result of our continued interest and consistent efforts in agricultural policies that are directly connected to the lives of our farmers. We will continue to discover and improve effective agricultural policies to foster a sustainable agricultural environment, strengthen agricultural competitiveness, and increase farm household income."
