Over 100 Alumni Including Shin Jeong-taek, Chairman of Seun Steel, and Yang Jae-saeng, Chairman of Busan Chamber of Commerce Attend
Son In-ho, CEO of Samjung Special Metals, Appointed 13th New Chairman, Awards Scholarships to 10 Current Students
The Department of Business Administration at Dong-A University (Department Head Jeong Jaehyun) held the ‘2024 Department of Business Administration Alumni Association President Inauguration and Farewell Ceremony and Year-End Night’ event.
The event, held on the 3rd floor Crystal Ballroom of Busan Lotte Hotel on the 21st, was attended by over 100 people including Shin Jeongtaek, a Dong-A University Business Administration alumnus and president of the Dong-A University General Alumni Association; Yang Jaesaeng, chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Yoon Seungho, honorary chairman of the Business Administration Alumni Association and chairman of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Construction Machinery Credit Union; Bae Gwanghan, senior vice chairman and CEO of Nextdoor; Yoon Seongyong, executive vice chairman and CEO of Kyungdong Crane Tech; Dong-A University Dean of Business College Choi Kyuhwan; Department Head Jeong Jaehyun; and professors Yoo Jaewook, Lee Seungtae, and Choi Mincheol.
On this day, Son Inho, CEO of Samjeong Special Metals, was inaugurated as the 13th president, succeeding Yoon Kyungro, CEO of Power Wind Machinery.
Newly appointed President Son Inho said, “The alumni association is becoming more active day by day, and alumni are uniting. Let us unite further and strive to contribute to the development of our alma mater and the local community and economy.”
Shin Jeongtaek, president of the Dong-A University General Alumni Association, said, “Among the 300,000 Dong-A members, the Business Administration alumni are the most passionate. Let us continue to work together for the growth of our juniors and the development of our alma mater.”
At the event, scholarships were awarded to 10 current students of the Department of Business Administration. Also, plaques of merit and appreciation were presented to President Shin Jeongtaek, Chairman Yang Jaesaeng, Chairman Yoon Kyungro, and Professor Yoo Jaewook.
Additionally, for the first time since the establishment of the Business Administration Alumni Association, alumni performed a choir stage together (lyrics by Yoon Kyungro, composed by Yoon Kyungro and Son Inho), attracting attention.
The Dong-A University Department of Business Administration General Alumni Association began in 1959 as the Commerce Department General Alumni Association. Since then, about 20,000 alumni, including notable figures such as the first president Ju Myeongi and former Minister of the Interior and Safety Heo Seonggwan, have led the national economy and local community as alumni association presidents.
