On the 26th, Dongmyung University announced that 25 of its current students and alumni passed the 32nd Level 2 Youth Counselor interview exam, achieving a pass rate of 92.59%.
These students obtained the Level 2 Youth Counselor certification after completing a 3-day, 2-night training program. Notably, 17 senior students from the Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology (headed by Professor Kim Min-jeong) took the exam, with 16 passing. Including graduates from this department and current students from the Department of Social Welfare, a total of 25 out of 27 examinees passed.
This achievement was greatly supported by the education provided through the Industry-Academic-Research Cooperation Cluster program under the 3rd phase Leading University Project for Industry-Academic Cooperation (LINC3.0) operated by Dongmyung University. Professor Park Soo-young of the Department of Korean Language Education and Multicultural Studies delivered four special lectures over four weeks until the 5th, covering youth-related laws and policies, understanding youth projects, and youth research theories for current students and alumni.
The Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Dongmyung University offers various extracurricular education programs to support students in obtaining major-related certifications, including Level 2 Professional Counselor, Level 3 Youth Counselor, and Art Therapy Practitioner.
The Level 2 Youth Counselor certification is a national qualification granted by the Minister of Gender Equality and Family based on Article 21 of the Youth Basic Act. It is awarded to those who have youth activity or youth development work experience, meet other qualifications, pass the certification exam, and complete the required training hours. Certificate holders can find employment at youth training facilities, out-of-school youth support centers, youth shelters, youth organizations, and institutions.
