Park Chae-ah, Chairperson of the Education Committee of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council (People Power Party, Gyeongsan 3), was reported on the 26th to have given a special career lecture titled "How to Become the Subject of a Happy Life" at her alma mater, Gyeongsan Girls' High School.
The special lecture held on the 19th was conducted in two parts for first-year students of Gyeongsan Girls' High School: Part 1 was a "thematic lecture," and Part 2 was a "talk concert" responding to students' pre-submitted and on-site questions. In the thematic lecture, as advice from a senior about careers and jobs, Chairperson Park introduced the triggers and preparation processes that led her to have two different professions.
Introducing her first profession as a tax accountant, she explained why she became a tax accountant, the process of preparing for a professional career, and the main tasks involved.
Regarding her second profession as a politician, she described how she became a member of the metropolitan council, the reasons for entering politics, and the process of becoming a re-elected standing committee chairperson.
Chairperson Park Chae-ah stated, "Reflecting while preparing for the lecture, I realized that my current achievements were not coincidences," and added, "You must always be prepared to have opportunities."
During the subsequent Q&A session, she directly answered students' pre-submitted questions, mainly about the reasons and processes for choosing careers, most memorable experiences during high school, ways to overcome slumps, and study tips, responding to the lively questions from the female high school students.
At the on-site Q&A, in response to a student's question, "I have too many interests, so it is difficult to choose a career path. I am confused whether to go to the science track or the humanities track," Chairperson Park said, "I also initially chose the science track but switched to humanities, and although I had a profession as a tax accountant, I am currently doing other work as well," adding, "Having many interests in various career paths is much better than having no dreams at all. I hope you take your time and thoroughly find your aptitude and specialties."
Finally, Chairperson Park advised the students, "Do not limit yourselves by setting boundaries on your infinite potential, and I recommend gaining many experiences," and encouraged them by saying, "When you live proactively without comparing yourself to others, only then can you truly become the subject of a happy life."
