Individual Purchase Limit Raised to 500,000 Won... Discount Rate Increased to 10%
On the 26th, Seosan City in Chungnam Province announced that it will expand the issuance of Seosan Sarang Gift Certificates to a total of 11.2 billion KRW in January 2025, in celebration of the Lunar New Year and to revitalize the local economy.
For January only, the city will increase the individual purchase limit of Seosan Sarang Gift Certificates from the previous 300,000 KRW to 500,000 KRW, and raise the discount rate from 7% to 10% for a special promotion.
Mobile (card-type) gift certificates can be purchased starting at 6 a.m. on January 1st through the 'Jiyeok Sarang Gift Certificate chak' app, while paper gift certificates will be available from January 2nd at 58 designated sales outlets including Nonghyup, Shinhan Bank, Suhyup, Saemaeul Geumgo, post offices, Hana Bank, and others during their business hours.
The purchased gift certificates can be used at 6,764 affiliated stores within the city, and further details can be found on the Seosan City website.
Mayor Lee Wanseop stated, "By expanding the issuance of Seosan Sarang Gift Certificates in January, we hope to ease the financial burden on citizens during the Lunar New Year, stimulate consumption that has shrunk due to rising prices and economic downturn, and help boost sales for small business owners and revitalize local commercial districts."
